The 2nd technical meeting of ultraSURFACE took place in May at the facilities of GEMUE (Ingelfingen). The status of all work packages were presented and afterwards there was a general discussion about the topics: beam-shaping optics, beam-splitting optics and machine / control. Highlights of the meeting were:

• Presentation of the detailed optic design of both optical systems
• First rendering of the optic box for the beam-shaping optics (incl. housing and mounting for the optics)
• First rendering of the machine which will have five mechanical axes and a process chamber for inert gases
